Review A
【Car Purchase Experience】
I had been driving a Geely car for over eight years, and it never had any major issues. I originally wanted to continue supporting Geely, but they didn't have a decent 7-seater SUV. At the end of last year, I was looking to replace my car. I checked out the Tang and Lanshan at the auto show, and after comprehensive consideration, I decided to buy the Tang. I had been waiting for the Tang L, but it kept getting delayed. Plus, there were rumors at the end of last year that subsidies would end in 2025. When the 2025 Tang was released, I thought the price was reasonable and bought it. However, within a few days, the manufacturer started offering free insurance, then price cuts, and then the launch of the intelligent driving version. I got "stabbed in the back" multiple times in just two months, and there was no compensation at all. It was really unbearable!
【Space Performance】
The interior space of the Tang 7-seater version is relatively good. I usually drive it as a large 5-seater, and with the third row folded down, the trunk space is quite large and can hold a lot of things! It’s no problem to fit two kids' bikes when going out, and it can even hold all the camping gear. The third row can temporarily seat two people; it’s fine for kids, but adults around 180cm tall will feel uncomfortable! Another issue is the lack of storage space. The cup holder design is unreasonable and a bit user-unfriendly!
【Range and Energy Consumption】
The range is quite good. I’ve driven over 10,000 kilometers so far. In summer, with the air conditioning on, the pure electric mode can basically reach around 100 kilometers before forced startup. In winter with the air conditioning on, it can only reach about 70 kilometers! I installed the 7KW charger provided by the manufacturer. After using up the electricity for commuting, it fully charges overnight, taking basically about two hours. Overall, it’s quite economical! I usually use pure electric mode with about 16 kWh/100km, and the fuel consumption when the battery is low is around 6L/100km, which is much lower than the cost of my previous fuel car. Thumbs up!
【Driver Assistance】
I missed the intelligent driving version and got "stabbed in the back" right after buying it 😅 I’ve used the lane-keeping assist, and I’m relatively satisfied with it. It can recognize lane lines, which is quite hassle-free on highways. It also relieves my right foot and reduces fatigue! I haven’t tried it in the city and don’t dare to; I feel more踏实 when I’m in control myself.
【Most Satisfied】
The Tang’s power is excellent; the power responds instantly with a tap of the accelerator. On the highway, stepping on the gas makes it accelerate quickly for overtaking, and it’s relatively stable at high speeds. This is what I’m most satisfied with!
【Least Satisfied】
1. The turning radius of the Tang is relatively large. When making a U-turn on a two-lane city road, I often can’t complete it in one go. The body is longer, but the turning radius is much larger than my previous car. Maybe I’m just not good at driving 😂 Everyone should be careful when taking sharp turns on mountain roads.
2. My 2025 Tang is from the last batch with the "chopstick suspension." Overall, it’s quite bumpy. Going over speed bumps or potholes feels like riding a boat, and people who are prone to motion sickness will easily get carsick 😓 Even though it has FSD, the effect isn’t obvious.
3. The charging port position of the Tang is a bit unreasonable; you have to pull a cable out of the armrest box. Sometimes the cable gets stuck, preventing the armrest box from closing, and forcing it closed might pinch the cable. The wireless charging pad is located deep in the armrest box cover, making it inconvenient to take and place devices. Besides being inconvenient, the charging speed is also slow, and it gets extremely hot after charging for a while.
4. There are too many piano烤漆 panels, which are total fingerprint magnets. If not wiped frequently, a layer of dust will settle on them, making me feel really uncomfortable. I later bought a film online and applied it, which made it slightly better.
Review B
Based in Xi'an, I started looking at plug-in hybrid/extended-range vehicles in the first half of the year, with options including Lynk & Co 08, Song PLUS, Deep Blue 07, and Tang:
1. The Lynk & Co 08 has a slightly disappointing interior space due to its thick body, and I often come across reviews mentioning many minor issues;
2. The Song PLUS is balanced in all aspects but feels like it's missing something, and the trunk is too small;
3. The SL07 lacks an instrument panel and has too few buttons, which is too radical, and the rear row is a bit cramped, especially when the driver's seat moves back for entry, it hits the rear seat;
4. Although I'm single and don't need 7 seats, the Tang's large trunk after folding the third row is still practical. The overall quality is better than the Song, and the price is reasonable, but the platform is too old.
So I joined the "wait-and-see group". Then came the Song L DM-i, which was good in various aspects but its外观感觉过于圆润臃肿, and the price had no highlights, making me feel more and more that it wasn't worth it. Then there was the Han DM, which has the外观 of the Han EV that I like most, but unfortunately, it's a sedan. During this period, I also considered the Li Auto L6 and Leopard 5, but the down payment for buying a house plus renovations basically exhausted the savings I had accumulated from three years of work. My family sponsored a lot, but I felt embarrassed to spend too much. My family wanted a larger SUV, so after going around in circles, I came back to the Tang. It's a practical family car with a sleek外观, and for佛系 driving, the three-link suspension doesn't have much impact.
As for why I bought the new model now: first, I urgently need a car for work commutes between two places; second, I missed the clearance sale while on a business trip earlier, and the 4S shop said that the remaining 2024 models were snapped up the day after the 2025 model was released; third, this year's Xi'an local subsidy only lasts for two weeks. The可恶的 trade-in subsidy messed up my plans, and even the new car subsidy was cut; fourth, the powertrain has been updated after all, and the new model's 200kW is much stronger than the old model's 200 horsepower.
Review C
I spent nearly two years choosing a car and finally bought the Tang DM-p in May. My candidates were the Voyah FREE, Tang DM-p, and Lynk & Co 08. The first two are four-wheel drive, while the four-wheel drive version of the 08 exceeded my budget, so I considered the two-wheel drive one. The following are my personal feelings. The advantages of the Voyah FREE are sufficient power, comfortable ride with air suspension, huge rear space, and backed by the major manufacturer Dongfeng, so I don't worry about it going out of business. The disadvantages are that I can't appreciate the interior, the infotainment system is laggy (during the test drive on the urban expressway, the infotainment system couldn't connect to the internet, and songs couldn't be played), the fuel consumption when the battery is low is impressive, the ownership is low, and the subsequent maintenance cost may be a bit high. The advantages of the Lynk & Co 08 are that it offers many comfort configurations, the three-speed DHT is fuel-efficient for long distances at high speeds, and the safety of the Volvo platform should be reliable. As for the disadvantages, the space is small; the exterior size is similar to the Tang, but the interior space is much smaller, as the space is taken up by the doors, which are particularly thick but frameless. The first-generation model has many minor issues, which can only be improved in the next generation; in addition, the reliability of this hybrid system still needs time and users to verify; moreover, the 19-inch wheels are narrow and ugly, and the 21-inch tires are too thin and prone to blowouts. As for the advantages of the Tang DM-p, first is the power, which has the strongest acceleration performance among the three cars, and there is no obvious attenuation when the battery is low (some bloggers tested that the acceleration成绩 between low battery and full battery is only about 0.2 seconds different). The space is good in the five-seat state, and the seven-seat can be used for emergencies. The large ownership means more accessories, cheap maintenance, and the car usage cost should be the lowest among the three. There are many after-sales outlets, which is guaranteed. Some people say this platform is old, but it also shows from the side that it is a mature model. Many people say the Tang's chassis is too poor, but I haven't seen many people buying the Frigate 07 with multi-link suspension. The disadvantage is that it has no personality; too many people bought it, there are six or seven Tangs in our community, and the appearance of this generation of DM-p and DM-i is the same. As for the stalling problem, I drive it rarely and only in the urban area, so I haven't encountered it yet. It may be due to the large ownership combined with the survivor bias; only those with problems post about it, while most people have no issues and use it as usual. The last possible disadvantage is that I may be "stabbed in the back" next year, and I have prepared mentally for that.
